The Gospel Truth

A lot of us think we have all the answers. The truth is no one knows everything. Not doctors, not friends, not family and not me. There is only one person that I know that has the answer to everything, and that is our Father, the Lord and Savior. I didn't just come to this conclusion, but I did learn that I need to allow Him to be more involved with the decisions being made in my life. Especially when it comes to Jordan.

Last week he had yet another appointment with his DAN! doctor. And because of the symptoms that are still present in him, even after implementing the diet and new supplements, there is another protocol that she wants to try. Typically when she recommends something, I pray on it, but never do I really wait to see if God says yay or nay. I do it to make it seem as if I am asking Him, but honestly my mind is usually made up to do it when I leave that office. I had to make a conscious decision this time not to jump into anything, especially since I had no information at all about this new procedure she wanted to start. However, this time I did have my answer before I left the office that this was approved by Him.

Jordan has a way about him that when his body needs something, he will let me know. I can think of a couple of occasions. There was the time when he was dehydrated and constantly asked for water. I also remember the time when he needed calcium and he wanted cereal with milk, which was something he never wanted to eat. So when he asked for me to cook his onions in olive oil for breakfast after I had switched to cooking them in the ghee, I didn't think twice about it. I knew there was a reason for it because he loved the ghee when I first started giving it to him. The new protocol calls for olive oil to be given with every meal, to either cook with, add to foods or just give a teaspoon by mouth. And that's the reason why I didn't second guess it.

However, once I did my research when I got home, I realized what the founder required was slightly different than what the doctor prescribed. There are things that are to be removed that she is leaving up to me to remove because she's seen results continuing with them. Jordan also takes an anti-fungal that it to be removed per the protocol, but she stated to continue with all other supplements. You also don't have to be on any kind of diet, while she requests I continue with the GAPS/BED. I was a little confused by it because I'm not sure if Dr. Nemechek requests what he does because he's under the impression those following aren't under the direction of a physician. However, this issue we are trying to address I have brought to the doctor, a year ago I might add, and it's just now being considered. Before I can make any kind of decision about what to do, I need to be informed as best I can by reading the book that goes along with it. Once I know all there is to know, I will take it to God. Matthew 7:7-8 (NKJV) "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."

During my church's annual Harvest Festival last night, I served as a volunteer in the special needs classroom so we could have a place where our children could deescalate if needed. Unfortunately because we also requested gluten free foods and meats off the buns, they decided it was go to in our room as well. Because of that, those of us serving ate in the room. Jordan was the only person who due to his diet, couldn't partake. My leader said I should give him something because truthfully, it wasn't fair. When at church, he is almost always surrounded by others eating things that he can not have that he really wants. He was acting up really bad and I didn't think it would be a good idea, but I gave in and allowed him to have a bag of Utz chips. Afterwards, he was calm and complied and we even got to go out and do his favorite craft, painting a pumpkin. Once we returned home he was giggly, but nothing extreme or out of the ordinary at times.

I needed this to happen because if Jordan can have items not GAPS or BED related, it would be huge because he would have more options and get the foods he likes. It may make him calmer because at times I feel like he acts out when he sees everyone having the things he wants. I think God allowed that to take place to allow me to see it doesn't matter what the doctor says, it doesn't matter what "specialist" say and it doesn't matter what I think. What matters is what God says. He shows me that over and over. He's the one I need to listen to because His word is the Gospel Truth.
